Fair Isle Knitting – Swallow Toque

This, my first Fair Isle toque, took about 16 hours to complete.  The next one took a few less hours.  I made it for Cassie last year for Christmas.

Dyeing experiment with #indigo on #wool and #cashmere ...
I grew the indigo from seeds, blended the leaves in my blender with ice and ice water, and put the wool and cashmere in to soak. When taken out and exposed to the air the yarn changes from green to blue!

We’ve got a new loom joining the family! This is an AVL Dobby, coming to us from a weaver who’s been using it since the 80s. It’s not fully assembled yet, but it’s very exciting!
